EVENT 23/10/10

Border Community ADE showcase @ Melkweg, Amsterdam, Netherlands : 23rd October 2010

As part of the official programme of the 2010 edition of the annual Amsterdam Dance Event, Border Community will be teaming up with our regular Amsterdam partners Melkweg to bring you a special label showcase of our current and future musical delights.

Interested parties should make sure to get down to the venue early for a special first international sneak preview of what our latest new recruit from Switzerland Kate Wax has been cooking up for her forthcoming album on Border Community. The Kate Wax live show fuses her wide-ranging vocal talents with a specially-designed stylish lighting presence, topping off her impeccable electronic sensibilities with a delicate touch of live instrumentation to make her one of live electronic music’s most exciting prospects. Events then take a turn in the direction of the dancefloor as we hand over to the safe hands of Avus, natural born trainspotter, Moog romancer and ambassador for all things acid with a DJ set that encompasses all three.

It is then the turn of our latest poster boy for Norwich Luke Abbott to show Amsterdam just how effectively the homely listening goodness of his critically-acclaimed Holkham Drones album can be translated to a club environment, insistently compelling everyone to dance to his own idiosyncratic pagan beat. Continuing this noble mission, it finally falls to who else but our leading light James Holden to bring the night to a close, transporting the assembled masses to another realm with his own contemporary take on musically-induced hedonism. Do join us.

Please visit the Amsterdam Dance Event website for more information on tickets for our Border Communtiy showcase and the whole of the ADE festival programme.
